Latest report from Michael from the last Branch meeting 9th October
Mad Cat are rightly proud of having recently won 1st prize at the Green Hop Beer Festival with their session beer, Oatrageous Oat Pale Ale, which used East Kent Goldings hops from Faversham (Syndale Farm in Ospringe, to be precise). Perhaps having one of their beers selected by me as one of my ten Desert Island beers in the last issue of Swale Ale doesn’t rank quite as high as a festival first prize but the beer in question, Jet Black Stout, is on sale again in a week’s time (hooray). The beer brewed especially for the chain of Thai restaurants, Rosa’s Thai Pale Ale, is now available in those restaurants all over the UK. The nearest place we can drink it is Bluewater. We’ll just have to hope for a Thai restaurant in the chain opening in Sittingbourne.
