Congratulations to Kim and Jim Pearson from the Elephant for being voted CAMRA Swale branch Pub of the Year for the 5th year running in 2011.
The Elephant is a friendly traditionally run ale house with the emphasis very much on providing a wide range of real ales. There are normally five beers, many from local micro breweries. A mild is usually available and Kim and Jim are always open to suggestions on what new ones to order.
The Elephant is one of Swale's six pubs so far who have signed up for CAMRA's LocAle scheme. You will see a sign on the pump clips for all beers that have been brewed within 25 miles of the Swale Branch area. Jim has also said that he will honour any Wetherspoons 50p off Real Ale vouchers provided they are in date, otherwise it's 20p on production of your membership card.
The single bar is divided by an open fireplace and the pub has been lovingly improved since the pair took over.
A separate function room caters for meetings, weddings and parties. The walled garden is popular with families in the summer.
